Christmas bells are ringing and the holiday spirit is everywhere

OFFICIALLY DONE!!

after a loooong week of studying... now that im done all i can think of is art of asia history. my treat is going SHOPPING in the STATES for the day when the sunrises at 6 we leave... and im still up at 1:15. my sleeping pattern has been eternally screwed up because of staying up late to study and work on projects the past few weeks.

2 week break! seems so short... but will enjoy every moment of it!!

Where are you Christmas?

Today is the day before my exam and leave for Christmas break. The past three to four months could be said to have gone by really fast or slow at times, but the past week has sluggishly gone by. I just want to get the exam over with and go home to celebrate the season and do our traditional Christmas family dinner, caroling at the hospital on Christmas Eve then head to church for Christmas Eve service. What a joy to be part of every year. During the Christmas season every tradition is the cherry on top! CAN'T WAIT!!

Today i had a movie scene moment...

I was walking to the locker room at Tait and i thought i walked passed a friend. I wasn't sure whether i actually knew him or not so i continued to walk. After a few steps i decided to turn around to see if it was actully him. Coincidently or not he turned when i turned and we exchanged smiles.

It felt like i was in a movie =) LOL it was kind of like when the lead actor and actress cross paths.

What are you thankful for???

I'm thankful for my family! No matter how many we can gather, each and every single one is an unique character and a joy to the family. (1,3,7 close to half the group!) I wonder what it would look like to have a full family shot and what the occasion it would be to bring us all together.

Summit [Oct 1-3]

A place away from the business of the city and the school routine life.

A time of prayer and seeking of His word and guidance.

When 4 universities are brought together, quiet just doesn't cut it. No matter what happened, it was 4x greater (singing, praising, praying, worshiping, cheering, learning...).

From start to end i heard Him talking and telling me to not be afraid. I found the answer to a question i was greatly struggling with all week [greater the sacrifice, great the prize. And the end prize is Him]. The journey may be hard, but it will all be worth it in the end. God had given me signs throughout my week, but He made a home run when i received a candle with the verse from Romans 8:28-31. When i read that verse i was astonished and shocked. God answers prayers and there are no coincidences.

Praise the Lord for a wonderful weekend of fun, making great friends, and getting closer to Him!

Flash back

Its been about half a week since i've been back home. I've seen a lot of old friends and its been great! Spending time with old friends really bring back a lot of memories... things that you wish you would have done together and things that you wish you hadn't done. None the less, i'm so glad to see each one of them and wish that i would be able to catch up and spend some more time with some.

Today was my last full day in Hong Kong. I started my day off by packing, like the past few days. Then i rolled down for a viet lunch with di ku fu and di kum mo. It was my first time eating viet food in HK. (every morning when i drive or wall past Soho i always crave pizza. I can't wait to go home and have some pizza!) After lunch, i became an owner of a LV bag! My very first LV given to me from my di kum mo as a "belated 18th birthday present". She believes that every girl after turning 18 should own their own LV or BV purse. After my very eventful shopping tour i relaxed and had a facial. "Nothing like taking a break from the busy world". Today is also the 31st anniversary of my di ku foo and di kum mo. As a family a bunch of us had dinner together. As we ate more and more joined us =D It was a very delightful time! That was my last dinner in Hong Kong. This whole trip has been an amazing experience and loads of fun.

I just finished packing for home... and will soon be off and heading back. I will dearly miss HK and all the family i have here and the places full of fun and yummy foods!

Wow has time gone by. It feels like i just came to Hong Kong last week, but i've been here for 106 days now. The saying is rite, "when you're having a good time, time seems to go by fast!"

I went to go see the movie Inception today... it is quite mind boggling. It goes into the subconscious of ones well being. There are dreams beyond dreams... so which is reality?? Are we in a dream rite now, but we don't know it? Is this place what we so call know as reality, actually the truth or is this all a fantasy?

It feels like forever since I've been out with my friends and just chillin'

The other day I went to go see Toy Story 3, it was probably the best movie I've seen all summer. Would that be because it brought back so many memories. I knew it, toys are a live and they talk and walk! HAHAA, oh how sweet is that.

Ending the day in style by heading to a Russian bar which was -20, while Hong Kong is +30 with 98% humidity.

I have finally took up the courage and curled the bottom of my hair. Spent around 4 hours at the salon, but not quite satisfied with it. This was the 3 third to the salon his i came to Hong Kong. I know for a fact that there are at least 2-3 more visits before i leave.

First time travelling without rents, just bro and cuz. This time around it was different and a blast!

We travelled around by subway everywhere we went... in Japan subways are SILENT, meaning no one speaks and there are signs saying "please turn off your phones"! The subway stopped in the middle of the tracks for over 30 mins and not a single person said a single word or a single complaint. If i were in Hong Kong everyone would be complaining and fussing. Their culture is very respectable.

Japanese food is simple, small and delicious! Just like everything in Japan. Unfortunately i wasn't able to buy much because everything is real expensive.

Nothing will top my experience to the fish market, having to wake up at 3 AM and lining up to see the fish auction. A once in a life time experience, and one time only.

All in all it was a fantastic trip!

Its been so long since I've had a night to myself or even time on my own. It was only for a short period of time, but it let me refresh my mind.

The past little while I've been so caught up with family and tonight for the first time i went out to the movies with a friend. When the movie ended for a second i thought i was in Canada... until i saw the chinese guy next to my friend LOL. I was asked early today by my dad if I feel home sick or had felt it since I've been away for so long. I had answered with a swiftly "No." I really didn't/ hadn't, but after the movie and feeling as if I was back home I must admit that I miss home.

It has been two long yet short weeks of cruising in the mediterranean.

Spending two whole weeks together, all the time can really connect and bond those around together. Its been 3 years since we've had a family trip together including my brother. Part two of my 2010 summer vacation has been a great time of fun and heat! There wasn't a day of quietness or bordem. Each day we visited a new place with a whole lot to see and eat!

We may grow up and walk our own paths, but everytime we meet there is a special friendship that will not disappear and tie us together.

Visiting Mainland was an experience.

We staid at 中國大旅館 and upgraded to a suite style room because my uncle is the head of security and his wife is a manger at the hotel. It was the first time meeting them and it was a great time spent together (probably the best trip i've had to Mainland).

There is so much to see and take in when you're in a place of unfamiliarity place. I saw a lot of strange things which apparently is normal... a family of 4 on 1 bike, a truck heading the wrong way on a one way street, 2 lanes equal 3 cars/ 3 lanes equal 5 cars and much much more. There is so many particular things that you would never think is normal, but to them it's nothing new or interesting.

In this world there's so much tied to relations with other people. In China, you can do anything and everything with the right relationships. I was taken by shock when told that someone could be sent to a death sentence and because they know the right people and have the money they are able to pay for a new ID and pass without actually dying. I guess nothing is impossible.

This past weekend was a long weekend. It was also the start of SOGO's once a year HUGE anniversary SALE!!! It has been over a month since ive been here in Hong Kong I've boughten stuff here and there, but friday and saturday were two intense full days of shopping. I bought so much and brands that i would never buy like Juicy. Funny thing was, at almost all the different stores my aunt was a VIP or knew the sales (intense). There were a huge amount of people (more than typical HK shopping), so crowded that for the first time i wanted to leave not yet finsihed shopping. By the end of the weekend i was all shopped out.

I spent my sunday relaxing and no more shopping. Was able to visit another church with a bunch of friends from Canada and spent the second half of the day sitting in the salon getting my hair done (new colour, new look). It is the third time since I've been in HK that I've been to the salon. Don't think i've ever been to the salon so often... more visits to come hahahaaha!

Since I've been in HK basically every weekend i would drop by the office and hang around for a bit, but this weekend i didn't even step near it. Now it is starting to feel like vacation! Plus my family is arriving tomorrow, that means more time up and around and less time in the office and the date of going to GREECE is drawing nearer!! WOOT WOOT =)

Today was the first day of my trip that i felt like i was on vacation. I went to Ocean Park and made some new friends. It has been a long time since I've had the same type of laughter. I've been having an amazing time but it just isn't the same when I'm around friends.
